It's been over three years since Basement Jaxx released their fourth album 'Crazy Itch Radio' and yet they still prove themselves to be one-of-a-kind –- a UK electronic act with mass appeal, whose shows have become a spectacle in themselves and whose records, whilst retaining their experimental edge, continue to appeal across the board.

'Scars', the band's fifth album, is another masterpiece in the dance-pop spectrum. With a host of special guests including Yoko Ono, Sam Sparro, Santigold, Kelis and Lightspeed Champion, 'Scars' is as innovative in its sound as it is in its vision.

For the legendary Basement Jaxx, being DJs and producers are two sides of the same coin. Club megahits "Where's Your Head At", "Romeo" and "Do Your Thing" exploded on their 2001 album "Rooty", named in honor of their original London club. "DJing is all about the dancefloor" states Felix bluntly. On the decks at Rooty they would regularly spin fresh, unreleased mixes from their studio, and their hyperactive mixing and producing style are the result of the immediacy of DJing to a live audience.

Fans have come to expect a myriad of guests and collaborators, as the Jaxx have had their hands on everyone from Justin to Robyn, Missy to Siouxsie, Me'shell to Pharrell, and more. Beyond the vocalists, outrageous shows, the historic Grammy win, and their revolutionary videos, Basement Jaxx will always be Simon Ratcliffe and Felix Burton -- two chaps from Britain who've irreversibly upped the ante for our generation of enthusiasts.
