I have a license and it is valid, but it has a little crack in it so when it has gone through scanners before it sometimes hasn't gone through, so I was making sure they will still let me in in case this happens once again.
I know individual costume questions are annoying, but I am confused because of the "no fur" rule, but responses saying spirithoods are okay (although they are made of fur). Can you please advise on the following costume? Thanks!

people keep saying that kandi isn't allowed, but it's not on the list that I got in an email from HHM. So is it allowed?
I've never been to any Hard events before, nor have I been to the Shrine.
So I was wondering if I could bring in certain items.
Such as...
a small backpack 10x6"
chapstick
compact makeup (press powder w/mirror)
eyedrops for contacts
bracelets
and gum?
no gum, no kandi bracelets, no backpacks of any kind.
Yes, chapstick, small purse (not backpack).
Eye drops not sure.
Hey Yuki question on the no oversized purses.. My girlfriend is wanting to take a purse that you put over your shoulder it's not huge maybe 7 by 5 inches (approx) and it is only one zipper. What would be the max size bag that would be appropriate?
Wallet was recently lost, I have an expired passport and id renewal slip from the dmv can i still attend?
hey yuki
if it rains its still going on right ???
and are passports getting scanned ???
hey yuki!
i'm being a cat for hard and was wondering if my furry bikini top could be permitted. thanks!
Yuki so its my hat ganna be allowed? Sorry to bother you so much but I'm really digging my costume this year and don't want to be denied my entry to hhm!
hey yuki would this hat be allowed? http://s6.thisnext.com/media/largest_dimension/4D930201.jpg

Hello Yuki,
I hate to ask this question because it's so similar to what others have asked but I've checked the forums and your page and haven't found someone in the exact situation as mine. My license expired last month and I've been waiting since then for my new license to arrive in the mail. Would I be able to get in with my temp as well as showing my old picture ID? I think the answer is no, because it is indeed expired, but I wanted to double check. I do have a valid passport that I will be using if I can't do the above mentioned and if my new license doesn't come but of course I'd rather not bring my passport if it can be avoided. Thanks so much for all your help and sorry for a repetitious question!
Hi there,
Unfortunately, if you don't get your new license in time you'll have to bring your passport. The security guards will be scanning IDs, so expired and/or temporary IDs would be rejected.
I hope you get your ID in time, carrying around a passport is a bit of a pain!
omg... so IS FUZZY BOOT COVERS COVERSSS!!!!!!!!!! OK??????? they are black and orange i thought they would be great for halloweeen... are they ok????? ALSOOOO
Should be fine as long as they're not plush...I'm assuming not.
Please be ready to remove them to have them manually searched.
hey yuki i have two questions for you .
1. so we cant bring bracelets to hard ????
2. okay my i.d. hasnt came in but i have a passport but it has a picture of me but its when i was younger is that okay ??? and ill bring a college i.d. for showing proof that its me in the picture

same thing branden asked XD, my wallet was stolen and i got my replacement but it wont arrive till after hard and was wondering if the temp id the DMV gives us would suffice. i don't have a passport either >.<
I don't think temporary IDs would work, since they do not have photos on them. I've been asked if it could be supplemented with a college ID, but again, that is NOT a government issued ID. I'm checking with security, will let you know.
i have my driving permit that has a photo of me but its on paper not laminated
Hi yuki- Was directed to you about costume questions? http://spirithoods.com/ . I got one to wear to Hard Haunted but not sure if its ok.. Pretty much the same thing as the comment below me. Any feedback would be awesome:)
Should be fine, please be ready to remove it to have it manually searched. Thanks.
hi yuki,
i lost my license at smokeout and im gonna have to order a new one but its not gonna come in time. do you think i can bring the temp id they give you with no pic and then my college id?
I don't think temporary IDs would work, and it cannot be supplemented with a college ID since it is NOT a government issued ID. I'm checking with security, will let you know.
i already bought my ticket before i lost my license, so if i cant get inm they will refund my ticket right?
Please refer to this:

If you bought your tickets from groovetickets, please contact them directly.
hi yuki, so about the birth certificate question... you dont think theyll accept it even if it has my actual birthdate and name plus i will have my college ID with a name and picture.. because i dont have a CA ID/ licence/ or a passport... im 18 and i have to go to hard ! :( thanks for your help
A forum member by the name of Caonashi is wondering if this item is allowed. He's wondering this because it looks plushy but it's not a back pack or toy, it's a hat and going to be part of his costume.

hey I have a question I understand the NOT allowed list.. and it says no food or candy I was wondering if Gum was okay (closed packet) like the no open cig. packets? And my girl was wondering about chapstick and gloss (cosmetic wise I assume) will those be thrown away at the door??Thanx.
I believe gum is NOT allowed. (The Shrine is a historic landmark and should be kept clean.)
Chapstick and gloss are fine.
hey yuki! will we be allowed to wear fuzzy leg warmers to hard haunted mansion?
So if I have furry leg warmers and my whole costume is kinda furry (I am supposed to be a cat), that is going to be ok and my costume won't get tossed in the bin and I won't get turned away from the event? I just want to make sure I abide by the rules and not get anything of mine thrown away!
To be completely honest, it's a bit of a grey area; we're not allowing plush items, but we're encouraging people to wear costumes. The whole reason we're banning plush items is so that people do not try to sneak in contraband. You might take a little longer with the security screening, but if you don't look like a criminal and/or intoxicated, I think it should be fine.
Thanks for your reply. That's fine, no contraband items will be found in my leg warmers. Don't think I look like a criminal either haha. Thanks again for clarifying.
this is great to hear! I read on the forums fuzzy leg warmers wouldn't be allowed, after I had already bought some furry red and white leg warmers for my santa/eskimo costume. Obviously eskimos wear fur :). I hope this is okay!?
Sticky threads are normally made by admins and are always the top threads. These threads tend to contain information about frequently asked questions or about important information.
You know you how some people use sticky notes to remind themselves about certain things? This is to prevent people from spamming thread sections with repetitive threads about a subject that has already been addressed and it also gives admins the power to close or delete threads that asks questions about prohibited items. Of course redirecting the person to your guys thread so he/she can post their questions there and obtain answer.
No problem, you guys been awesome towards me.
Hi Yuki, I just wanted to ask who I can contact @ HARD to bring in my camera to take photo's for hard haunted? It's for my photo blog I've been taking photo's for different events.
I ment who can I contact @ HARD to do photography for a company that takes photo's at events like hard
but I found it I think, I sent an email to press[at]hardfest.com
but thanks again.
I know what you meant, sorry I should've explained better.
Press passes are pretty much strictly for established publications.
Do you know if there is an official list of what is not allowed? If so can you give it to me?
Light gloves are NOT allowed.
Please see below:
SECURITY: The following items will not be permitted: backpacks, oversized purses, dolls, toys, plush items, glow sticks & light toys, blankets, professional cameras, video cameras, weapons, markers, glass, bottles, food & candy, beverages, open cigarette packs, illegal substances and paraphernalia. You will be searched. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone.
COSTUMES: Halloween costumes are welcomed and encouraged. The following restrictions apply: no mock weapons or items that may be employed as a weapon. No Los Angeles Police, Fire or Sheriff department costumes. All items are subject to search; bulky items may delay entrance.
Sup Yuki how's it going? Do you think it is possible to have a sticky thread on the HARD forums with what is allowed and what is not?
Yuki, I'm like determined to get my gloves in, because I love love LOVE giving lightshows and am actually starting to get booked by events to preform. I read a few posts down that the reason behind the banning is to prevent contraband into the event, what if I can take my lights, take them apart and put them in a baggie so security can see there's nothing but plastic, batteries, and the bulbs? I'd be willing to go thru that hassle
Hi TeamWhomp,
Unfortunately, that would hold up the line significantly, so we need to ask you to please leave your gloves at home.
Thank you for taking the time to check though.
I meant having them taken apart, having the light bulbs in a bag, the batteries in a bag, and the casings in a different one before even getting in line, and then putting them together after security. We're persistent :P
hello i love hard festivals but i am not 18 till november and want to go to HHM i have my cuzins id but i want to noo if u think that would work i just want to go for the and im not A LITTLE ROLLER i just want to hear the music i went last year it was amazing
Hey, sup Yuki! I saw you at HARD Summer! :)
I have a question, is there going to be VIP for HARD Haunted 2010? If yes, will it come with a backstage pass? I have a friend who's wondering.
Question from me, have you figured out if my costume will be accepted for entry? I really have been working hard on it. I just don't know if it will be accepted due to it having LEDs. I honestly am only using it because hey, it's halloween. hahaha and I'm proud to be part of the street team and a supporter of HARD that's why I'm adding the words HARD on the back.
Thanks!
Hey Josh,
You saw me?? Are you sure, where?? Next time, say hi!!
I think we're probably going to have VIP for sale, but backstage is only for artists and working crew.
I think your costume should be totally fine, especially if you're part of the street team :)
It looked like you or might of been a figment of my imagination. haha. I saw you on the side of the stage behind Erol Alkan. Thanks for your response! I'll let my friend know. Alrighty then I shall get to it and finish this. I'm glad to be part of it, you guys been great to me by sending me flyers all the way to my state.
I want to thank you guys and what better way than representing HARD around Arizona and California. :)
hi this is onesixlove, im really really sorry! i didnt mean to break the rules. do you think maybe i can get a second chance..? im a real big hard fan.. i wont talk about anyyy drugs or prohitbited items anymore! pleaseee!
We take security very seriously and this forum is monitored. It's surprising that you chose to make those comments here.
i understand.. but it wasnt my intention to try to promote drug use at hard or anything. pleasee believe mee! do you think maybe i could get just a warning?
I appreciate your apology, and we do love our fans.
Your entry is being discussed, and the decision is up to our security team. You will be notified either way.
Thanks you for your comment! I will post a pic when I get everything wired up. Still have loads of things to get done on it.
Hello, I was wondering if the "no lights" rule will be applied to HARD Haunted Mansion also. Reason for asking is because I am currently working on my costume and I'm adding LED lights with the word HARD. I know it's a bit early to be asking but may be you have knowledge of this.
Josh, your costume idea sounds pretty glorious!!!
We have the no lights/toys/gloves rule so that people don't try to sneak in contraband. That's why backpacks and plush toys are also not allowed. I think LED lights attached to your costume should be okay, but I'll check with the head of security. Thanks for checking!

hey yuki! i was wondering if we the people haha can get an official clarification on the status of "candy" @ HARD events? Is HARD referring to bead "kandi" or food candy? thanks!
Hey there,
Sorry, backpacks are not allowed.
Please see below for the full list:
SECURITY: Please leave these items at home: backpacks, oversized purses, dolls, toys, plush items, glow sticks, candy, blankets, professional cameras, video cameras, weapons, glass, bottles, food, beverages, and open cigarette packs. Listed items will not be permitted. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone.
Thanks so much for checking!
