Plannin on goin to summer HARD (which would be my first HARD)

1. No light shows?
2. How's security?
3. Why did it get shut down last year?

It got shut down last year becuase something similar to what happened at EDC occurred...a bunch a idiotic kids tried to hop onto the floor from the seats at the Forum...security was unable to stop the mobs of kids and the fire department came in to say that the event can no longer be held...damn those asshole posers...

Lightshows. take them away from the dancefloor please, I want to dance

Security is different everytime, but I'm sure since EDC news has LA officials all stirred up, it will be moar strict n stuff.

josue's description of last years summer is pretty much accurate. and it was at the forum. so that was on hard's part.

see, im getting more and more into raves and stuff like thatt, but i dont really like trance artists and shit like that, i like electro and dubstep and stuff like that you know? so I obviously wanna go to hard, especially for soulwax and CC. but im not like, super raver guy, i mean, i dont have my arms decorated with candy.

but i do wanna get more into the rave scene and do light shows, so i was gonna buy a pair of gloves. dont worry, i wont be giving light shows on the dance floor because it's stupid to do it when there's tons of people dancing and stuff.

but is HARD not the place for light shows at all? or is it just not for the packed dancefloor? basically what im asking is, will there be a place to give light shows?

id love if HARD events were cool with it, because ive always loved the artists who played at them.

and, alrite, ill ask straight up, do people roll at HARD? its not like im going to just to roll hard or anything, but, well, you know.

people roll at pretty much alot of events now a days

I completely agree with @KcNekro

People who go for HARD events are a lot more serious and mature than those "ravers" now in days...Expect a bit of timidness but if you party hard, you'll fit right in. :)

@zameer hards definately the place for electro. and lights shows are awesome man, no ones gonna care if ur doing it as long as its not in the front row where people are tryin to get to. at hard bloody beetroots i was gettin tons of light shows around the center/frontt when it wasnt too packed and more chill before beetroots came on. kinda just walk around with the gloves n people will ask. and yeah tons of people roll. not as much as edc but when i went to hard half the people around me were.

1. Don't know what exactly you're trying to mean by "light shows" Yes, there are many lights and amazing stages. Yes, there's also people will give light shows but like @KcNekro stated make sure you go to the back where all the people that give light shows are at.

2. Same security company that EDC used.

3. Like my twin @Josue stated, it was shut down by similar events like EDC. Stupid hipsters, posers, and kandy kids trying to hop into the ground floor. Like he stated security was able to keep control but the fire marshals decided to shut the event down.


Welcome to HARD! Btw you don't need to follow the crowd and roll. I never roll and I enjoy my self as much as people who are rollin'. That's just me though.

security is also very different every time but i also agree w/ kcnekro i think itd be just a bit more tight since what happen at EDC n medias on hard a bit more since its been gettin moer coverage lately. hard BB secuirty actually made u throw away the things u werent allowed to bring in like gum n water bottles. then they just patted u down and checked ur items in pockets. at EDC friday i just walked through and they didnt check anything O.o (came around 6pm was barely anybody at teh entrances) saturday though they checked everything and patted me down and took ticket stubs. all same company CSC. so it varies..

See, like, what attracts me so much to raves is just the good vibe and music. Not just rolling and being a stupid person. Those types of people are gonna fuck it up for everyone.

But perfect, I'll get to tear up the dancefloor, and when i'm over that I'll head to the lesser packed areas and give light shows. Ahh, I'm so excited. See idk, I just kinda was reading around this board, and I got the vibe that rolling/light shows were looked down on at HARD events, but, you guys have shown me that that's not the case.

ill definitely be lookin for you haha i wanna get into doin light shows too haha but the raver scene is definitely kinda looked down upon at hard... and yeah thats why i like raves so much (hard isnt really considered one) mainly for the good vibess

my first time at hard..please tell me that people aren't going to be acting ridonkulous.just looking for awesome music and dancing and lol take lots of pictures with people i prob will never see again in my life ^_^...also hope it dont get out of control like it did when i was @ edc..is security going to be tight @ HARD because they didnt give a rats ass @ edc

HARD events are great. they keep it real. "this is a rock show, this aint no fucking trance party!!!" epic words that i live my life by.

EDC's kinetic shit field was full of dumb asses. If you would of gone to the other fields you would of found the most down to earth people since they are there for the music not to follow the crowd. I enjoyed myself a lot at EDC because I stayed away from that stupid field were all the stupid kids were at. As for HARD depending who's playing is the type of assholes you're going to get. If it's deadmau5, justice, or the bloody beetroots. You will get your typical bum rushing sheeps. They hear those names and it's like they automatically go into stupid sheep mode. baa follow the crowd omg h4x0r5 it's deadmau5. Saw em in 2008... best set i've ever seen em play out of the many times i've seen em live. This year i saw part of it because my friend wanted to see deadmau5 and i saw his stupid cube or what ever the fuck that is and realized what commercialism does to dj's. Heck, he use to play on a normal table lifted up by bricks.

I got nothing against deadmau5 but it's sad that he doesn't even take pics with his fans any more. We got to meet Joel at that event and my friend took a picture with em. I haven't seen em do that at all after that one night. I dunno if its the fame or fear of getting hit or shoved due to how much fame he has gained in less than 2 years. I love his old music but anything he has made after Ghost n' Stuff is a big bummer. That's just me though. I still kick my self on the ass for missing HARD Haunted Mansion 2008.

damn...I agree with you @flippinsweetjosh...I missed out on HARD Haunted Mansion '08 too, but I saw videos of deadmau5, damn good....now it bores me to see him...I wanted to meet him but it seems like there's no one to even get to him anymore...maybe the fame has gotten to his head...

yo, just actually came to the forums here to check up n see the status of hard summer (with the events of EDC) and since its still goin ill throw my 2 cents in!

Glad to see another gettin into the electro scene! I first heard Cross back in 2007 and never looked back ;). From the sounds of it Zameer your gonna really enjoy the show, as for rolling, i personally have always enjoyed hard events so much that I felt like rolling was unnecessary heh. Went to the mansion in 2008 with my friend and dj partner from canada and we stand by the fact that it was probably one of the best concert/ party/ shows thats ever been put on.

Ill leave yah with a lil somethin to get you pumped for soulwax from the 08 mansion. Yes. they are that good.

good forum. i agree with a lot of people here like theres always gonna be those assholes at event that can ruin the event personally dont let em get to u unless they get shit shut down...edc was fun had no problem there people were nice as always but ya the main stage fuck got closed early n just so many people jumping the fence i was fine on the side. as for hard its gonna be fun as hell i cant wait. n ya those rules of no light shows or glowsticks isnt gonna stop people. join me at the back man ill have my gloves on n just tripping people out n then put em away when i go to the front cuz imma be to busy dancing my ass away hahaha...hope all of u who go have fun as well. n ya deadmau5 cool music douche of a man. he tries to be cool with his fans like he was but all he does now is play n bounce n he doesnt even show up early just when he has to play. ....so other than that add me on msn no1cares_8@hotmail.com i love meeting new people n shit. everyone in this forum seems to be chilled.

This is an Indie Dance concert. If you want to pop drugs and fiddle with lights please do it at home.

Other than that just show up, dance and have fun and above all be safe and respect the saftey of others.
