    #1 BURNING MAN!

    I knew it! best arts and music festival there is world wide. No wonder no insomniac events were mentioned they are just spin-offs of Burning Man. That shits legend.

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    Already saving up for next years Burning Man and designing myself. Meaning making something that represents me. Every time I think about Burning Man, I think about true freedom. I know it sounds corny but that's beyond any event held around the world.

    Best of all, it reminds me when I barely started going to raves and events. Every one just having a good time being themselves not replicas of each other.

  • holliiieeeholliiieee October 2010

    its like 300$ or more right??

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    @chloe

    nope, that's if you wait until the last minute. It's all worth it though, it's all worth it.

    Actually Burning man has charity tickets. Meaning if you can buy tickets at higher price do so, so people who can't afford buying tickets they can get em for a really cheap price. I love how they work, they also have assistance to people with low income to get them free tickets as long as they just help out for a few hours at the event.

  • SonikSonik October 2010

    I wish I went, sounds epic.

  • StellaStella October 2010

    wow so many of those look amazing, especially the spanish desert and croatian boat ones! well at least most of us can check 2 off that list! =^.^=

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    @Sonik it's not until next year. If you save up, I can take ya with I. My friends and I are going.

  • SonikSonik October 2010

    @Josh oh shit really?
    that would be nice!
    you made my day :,)

    saving up by the end Janurary or next I'lll get a ticket so fo sho :)

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    @sonik

    yea just look up burning man you will get all the info you need on there. Dude it's until August 2011 so there's plenty of time. :D

  • SonikSonik October 2010

    @Josh I know but I really wouldn't want to pay a lot :p

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    You don't just your ticket and well you can bring what ever you want water. You're going to need it.

    Here's a little taste of what black rock city is about.

    Any dj that performs there just gets blown away by the exprience. The Crystal Method played there this year for their first time!

    Burning Man makes any insomniac event look like shit. Best thing about none of them kids who don't know jack about EDM.

  • SonikSonik October 2010

    I seen Sharam, but this epic and I tried seeing how much were tickets they are expensive and say sold out already?

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    That was for this year. hahaha. :) Sharam is amazing.

  • SonikSonik October 2010

    oh really?
    so tickets start selling till Jan.?
    I never like most of the trance or stuff like that but he blew my mind like Kaskade.

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    @Sonik

    not sure but you should keep an eye out. I'm already coming up with ideas, actually that's going to be the last event I ever attend to. I had enough fun already and I've seen EDM grow and die once more.

    Sharam is not trance he's house.

  • SonikSonik October 2010

    @Josh just read it was this year, just relieved again and excited and that teaser amazing!

    sorry I wouldn't know cause I don't listen to him much.
    but it was fun seeing him.

    I plan to go to Coachella one day.
    and for Europe Soulwaxmas and Rock Wertcher.

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    @Sonik

    Nice, Europe is something different. haha.

    I might give Coachella a try not too darn excited for it though, it's just another EDC with out the carnival crap. My bro went in 2006 and saw Daft Punk there, bastard didn't invite me. The only thing he told me was "it sucked"... ahaha im not kidding.

  • SonikSonik October 2010

    @Josh

    what really?
    damn I still wanna try though, shit cracks.

    Europe sickest shit.

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    @Sonik

    Yea but my bro is old school house. I saw the videos and it looked whacked.

    Europe has a different scene from us.

  • VelvetikkaVelvetikka October 2010

    hahahah

    "If you can survive partying with insane LA rave-kids then you can handle anything."

    I love that!

  • NitsujNitsuj October 2010

    @Josh

    How do you figure Coachella is anything like EDC? I mean if you're staying strictly at the Sahara tent all day/night, ya, it's going to be an Insomniac event, but there are a ton of amazing "indie" and more mainstream acts on the other stages. The crowd is a lot different too, from my observations, the kandi kids came out at night in the Sahara tent, but the majority of the crowds were hipsters or hippies if you really want to boil it down haha.

  • wonderlandwonderland October 2010

    ^ I agree, Coachella is amazing and pretty much the opposite of EDC. More hipster less kandi kids. I think I saw maybe 15 total when I went. Give it a chance, you won't regret it!

  • I_SNORT_COCAINEI_SNORT_COCAINE October 2010

    to compare Coachella to EDC is an insult. In no way is coachella like EDC, way less stupid kids running around since they cant afford it.

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    @Nitsuj

    Not talking about the theme but the magnitute of the event and the sahara tent. I already have an idea what Coachella is been to SWSX. Not to mention neither come close to Buning Man ask any dj any person who has attended BM. BM is beyond anything you guys can imagine there's nothing like it.

  • Moooondragon69Moooondragon69 October 2010

    Well @Josh no one was comparing it to Burning Man.

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    who said anything about people complaining about BM? Just throwing out experiences from people. Djs get blown away when they perform at BM its hard to explain what it is. You can explain what coachella and EDC are but BM... you just can't.

  • NitsujNitsuj October 2010

    @Josh

    Burning Man never really interested me. Coachella car camping was tiring enough, I can't even imagine what being out in the desert for a week is like. I guess people have a such a hard time explaining the experience because they're fried out of their minds for the entire thing...haha, kidding. But it's probably true for some people.

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    I live in one and it ain't that bad. Black Rock City ain't that bad the weather isn't as bad as my area. A lot of people don't understand BM its not about camping or being in a desert; like I stated before its unexplainable.

  • NitsujNitsuj October 2010

    @Josh

    I came from a desert too...not bad in the winter (I can deal with the cold) but in the summer with 110 degree weather...so horrible. To each his own, I generally try to break down the whole "mysticism" of events like Burning Man, mainly because to me it's just a load of hippie bullshit haha.

  • I_SNORT_COCAINEI_SNORT_COCAINE October 2010

    I agree with nitsuj , from what I got from talking to a handful of burners, they say it's not a music event, but more of an creative art festival. To try and look for a big line up of music artists at BM is probably not the thing to do, but if I want to get fucked up on shrooms riding a 20 foot banana ladder bus I'll goto it.

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    "but the crowd was mostly hipsters and hippies if you want to boil it down." ??? Sounds like Coachella?

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    it what yo want it to be. hahaha richard scarry status. :) Ima make an apple. :)

  • NitsujNitsuj October 2010

    @Josh

    Correct. I don't like the hippie lifestyle. I simply tolerate it. They annoy me though. And they talk a lot of bullshit about being one and stuff. Haha.

    I guess I'm more interested in Coachella because it's a shitload of good artists I want to see. Burning Man, like Cocaine said, is more of an artistic thing from what I've heard, where the music isn't necessarily first.

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    who said I was going for the music? I want to see art and people express themselves uniquely. Sounds like the concept of "PLUR" doesn't it? I guess people are pretty stupid and the term itself is not even part of EDM. Unless you disagree?

    Never the less bass nectar and the crystal method were there this year.

    As far a artists im not into main stream music that's why I don't get too stoked about coachellas line up. I'm more into underground and talented musicians. I'm a musician myself so I'm picky when it comes down to music.

    Out of subject my hotel is crawling with Bodybuilder men and women... shits whack. If you guys are in the SD area there's a party at my hotel.

  • holliiieeeholliiieee October 2010

    @josh ^^

    i agree

  • pezGatopezGato October 2010

    "To try and look for a big line up of music artists at BM is probably not the thing to do, but if I want to get fucked up on shrooms riding a 20 foot banana ladder bus I'll goto it."

    I love I snort cocaine

  • JoshJosh October 2010

    @pezGato

    he wasn't joking about the banana there was a 20 foot banana/car filled with drugged up peeps. haha

  • pezGatopezGato October 2010

    never thought he was joking. I actually thought he was dead on.
