I'm expecting the full band playing Nite Versions, seeing how this event has a lot of electro.
SOULWAX doesnt have a dj set if it was a dj set they would be called 2manydj's and ive been looking up recent SOULWAX shows and they seem to play all kinds of HEAD BANGING SHIT!!!! really intense and a little bit of night versions but youll never hear them play none of there old rock stuff watch there PART OF THE WEEKEND NEVER DIES dvd it explains everything
@DarkHorse DJ sets are mostly preselected songs that a dj is going to play for the night if its a dj. If it's a band like Soulwax it means 2manydjs. Live set v
would be from mixing live and dropping beats as they come. (correct me if I'm wrong) As for Soulwax it's Soulwax playing with the whole group.
im gonna kill myself literally, dj set means when they are playing other peoples music and their own. they are mixing it.
live means when they play their own shit on stage.
So Soulwax is PLAYING AS THE BAND ITSELF.
just ask DJKCNEKRO he should all the answers too what a dj set really is.
you pretty much have it @Matt, a DJ set is when the musician(s) aren't going full potential "Live", but in some live sets some dj's still sample music from other musicians and mix it with their own, even Justice Live uses other music in their "Live" acts, like for example

I cant remember what the name of the song is but starting @ 0:58 - 1:28 is sampled someone else's tune
yeah haha @Flippinsweetjosh
I hate using my phone on blogs and whatnot cause after a while you feel like you're writing too much, when really all you've wrote is like 2 sentences lol
i'll be at Digitalism!

Now that we're all clear on the difference between a live and DJ set...
I just want to hear the version of "E Talking" that came out on 'Any Minute Now' but I suppose I can go break out the CD if I really want that. I'm disappointed that they apparently don't play their old stuff anymore in favor of the anemic newer Nite Versions, which is why I asked the question in the first place. Has anyone seen them on their current tour to confirm what their set list is like?
