I am an anthropology graduate student at the University of Wyoming. I am currently engaged in a visual anthropology project, which involves producing an ethnographic account of a cultural phenomenon through visual aids. This approach is a departure from typical ethnographic methodologies, which often involve textual based accounts of human behavior. I am interested in sound and its influence on one's "being in the world". This theoretical approach is known as phenomenology. I am currently attending the Holy Ship event this January, and am considering attending Hard Haunted Mansion. My goal is to collect data, which consists solely of photographs. These photographs will not be used outside of my project and my project will only be viewed by those within the UW Anthropology dept.
