dunno why they are restricting so many things...
its like all the usual restricted things + everything related to ravers lol
@onesixlove HARD wants to distance themselves from the rolling raver scene but go to a HARD show and you dont see much of über ravers anyways. but i dont know if candy refers to actual candy or like "kandi" beads stuff haha
yeahh i went to hard before, and i thought i saw in a post before it was about kandi but then destructo said it was allowed now. and i also know hard doesnt wanna be related to raves but look at hard haunted! that was definately a rave lol and its like the best event they have! i dont see why destructo hates the title of raves so much :(
@onesixlove probably now because of the fallout from EDC. who wouldnt want to distance themselves from raves after that? i mean, the LAPD and the city have been shutting down a lot of parties that have been promoting themselves as raves. i quote from one such promoter that the LAPD have " made it clear how serious [they are about] cracking down and making sure what happened at EDC won't happen again." which you got to admit makes sense after seeing that fence rushing video plus all the extremely negative media coverage from that girl's death
@onesixlove Hard is close enough to a rave in a nonraver's *COUGHLAPDCOUGH* eyes to be seen as just another "rave". Means it'll prob get just as much shit from them ):
@Christina Probably means kandi after seeing the other stuff on the banned list. +there's still a chance police will try to shut it down after 10 since it isnt 18+!
I guess I'll look into some lowkey lightup accessories or ways to hide glowsticks on me xD
@tomoyopop probably most likely.
@zameer holla!
@mailando that would suuuuuck if they shut it down. but i think HARD will pull this one off. even though 18+ would be nice (if anyone went to audiotistic, you'll know what im talking about!)
I've emailed hardfest and they answered my other questions, but regarding kandi and lights they've ignored it twice.
It's my first HARD event, so I'm wondering if HARD summer normally would have lightshows? Everyone's mentioned how its trying to be different from a rave, and I want to know how so.
so do raves lol
i dont understand why everyone is saying no light gloves, glow sticks, etc or "its not a rave" LMAOOOOO ive been to several hard events, its a fucking rave dude-tons of glowsticks, light gloves, half naked people, kandi and what have you. HOWEVER there is more of a "hipster" clubish partyish vibe as oppose to straight up raver status with ptots covered in kandi and cuddle puddles every corner you look. i guess its like a rave with a mature edge to it, which is what i prefer anyway.
lol
you look like a hipster lol
what the hell @onesixlove?
is that like an insult or something?
fo real whats a hipster? I keep thinking when you say hipster you mean like those assholes who dress to impress at the club
@SR_sunshine well kcnekro should have looked it up instead of being lazy. so sorry.
haha damn I'm fuckin up!
well I looked it up, sorry I didn't really think something like hipster should have made it to the world wide web but it did
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hipster
there it is "Hipster" I guess @onesixlove is kinda right I'm like 60 percent "hipster"
idk if that's bad but fuck it haha
I'm lame!
Actually a hipster is what we use to call emo kids or scene kids as they called themselves to make themselves feel better. Those are the people who have entered the EDM scene lately. A hipster/kandi kid/"sheep" is none other than a refurbished lost emo child.
You know those kids who always wanted to fit into a group so they followed the crowd?
Emo kids = the new hipsters, kandi kids, and posers.
they should let you allow lights theres like 2 hours of darkness then its done. sad but oh well

a hipster.
or as urbandictionary has it: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hipster
fuck, well I'm no emo or scene kid, but that deffinition had me at the:
"value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter"
but still there's more to me than that so fuck that I ain't no hipster.
I'm a fry cook. haha,
I hope someone can catch on to that one....
There will be lights people but this aint no rave!
A l l i k n o w i s t h a t i m s n e a k i n g m y g l o v e s i n .
L o o k f o r a b l i n k i n g s u n n e c k l a c e & g e t a s h o w : ) < 3
Pssshhh, there will be gloves and orbits in full effect. You know this.
@Christina Yea, but the definition of HIPSTER in EDM is different.
who the fuck is wongton lol.. seriously hes not even that good
*Fixed*
Ever since people started raving, people started giving lightshows.
How will you sneak them inn, im thinking boxers. I have this pocket thing. And i guessss i could fit my gloves in there. Gonna be pretty weird if security scoops me. It'd feel like i had a huge pad on.. .awekwarddd
so what happens when you get inside the venue with gloves and they see you? Will they confiscate it??
just because these people weren't the first people doesn't make them sheep. the people that just hopped on because of everyone else, now those are sheep. if you grabbed a pair and just went crazy with them in the dark like the youtube starwars kid, you would have an awesome time.
one of the admins said they will confiscate them but you just gotta be in a thick crowd kinda and make them kneel down whie you give them a show. thats what was goin on at hard
theres gonna be like 3 and a half hours of darkness. plenty of time
@Brandonseos Yap, it's really hard to type a good sentence after working a 12 hour shift. That's why I don't really care for grammatical errors and punctuation errors around this time. Yet, you did understand the message given didn't you?
To every one else Wongton been giving light shows before all you kids. Give props to the man who got this trend going in Cali.
@caonashi I rather not, I'm way over that phase. May be 4 years ago I would of done it, now... eh. Don't need to be running around with mickey mouse gloves that have lights on the finger tips to enjoy myself.
wongton is one of the earlier glovers there were not that many people but still a decent few giving out shows in 06-07... he didnt bring the trend in bye himself at all.
@etardssuck He and his crew were pretty much who gave light shows at almost every single event they went to, but he was/is one of the best here in Cali. Name me a few people back in 07 and 08 who gave glove light shows.
He's the only one I ever saw giving light shows back in 07 and 08.
Give props to where it's due..
